~ Argument Analysis ~
(Part 2)
7. Go over all your notes from last year and make sure you understand what the argument analysis task is about. (~3 hrs).
8. If you want a real head start on how to write AA essays for SACs and exams, check out this course which breaks it all down with examples for every section (including introduction and paragraph formulae, as well as good essays): https://winningenglish.thinkific.com/ (4 hrs video + extra to practice the skills).
9. Have a look at all the key elements you are supposed to include in an introduction. Start to create a short formula you can use every time, which contains all those key elements. This will save you a lot of time under exam conditions, and is a pro tip no one else will tell you. (~45 mins).
10. Write at least one practice piece slowly and deliberately, thinking about what each sentence is trying to do. Make sure to avoid simply retelling what is in the article. Focus on HOW the audience would be feeling after reading each section or persuasive device. Don’t bother writing another one till you’ve had this one corrected by your teacher/tutor etc. (~2-3 hrs, spread over no more than 3 days).
