2025 VCE Exam Timetable

The 2025 VCE exam season is fast approaching. This page contains all examination dates as of 7 July 2025. Best of luck to all students sitting unit 3 and 4 exams this year!

VCAA rules for External Examination conduct

Students must be familiar with the rules for all external assessment. Students must also familiarise themselves with the permitted materials in examinations.

Important information: 2025 VCE Examinations

Here are a few tips recommended by VCAA to help you do your best on exam day.

  • Make sure to check the starting time of your exam
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the exam's start time
  • Be familiar with the rules about late admission to exams
  • Afternoon start times are mostly at 3:00pm. However, on days with only two exams, the start time may be 2:00pm
  • The reading time is included in the times listed below for all exams. Unless otherwise stated, it is a 15 minute reading period
  • All responses must be provided in English unless specifically stated otherwise in the particular question book
  • For the following exams, students will be provided with an individual examination advice slip. This examination advice slip along with photo identification must be presented for the student to be admitted to the examination
    • Performance examinations
    • Languages oral examinations
    • Extended Investigation oral presentation
  • There is an audio component for the following written examinations: Music Composition, Music Contemporary Performance, Music Inquiry, Music Repertoire Performance, VET Music (Sound Production) and all Languages including Chinese Language, Culture and Society, except Auslan, Aboriginal Languages of Victoria, Classical Greek, Classical Hebrew and Latin

GAT Section A – Literacy (Reading and Writing) and Numeracy

This examination commences with a 5-minute reading period.

Students are scheduled in one two-hour session. Each session is preceded by 10 minutes reading/viewing time.
